The course
The course and its exercises are free and need no account. The content is educational: it isn’t professional, legal or security advice, and code samples come with no warranty. Check them before any real use. To report an error, write to the address above.
Intellectual property
The text and exercises are protected by copyright unless stated otherwise. Videos and their thumbnails, courses, articles and trademarks cited belong to their authors and owners, with no affiliation to this site.

Cookies and audience measurement
With your consent, the site uses Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager and provided by Google, to count visits, see where they come from and which pages help. Trackers last at most 13 months and data is kept for 14 months. Google may transfer this data outside the European Union, under its policy. If you decline, none of these trackers is set and the site works the same.
Your choice is kept for 6 months in your browser, then you’re asked again. You can change it at any time with the “Manage cookies” button at the bottom of pages.
Personal data
The data controller is Simon-Gauthier Place. The site has no account. Audience measurement only runs with your consent.
- Progress and code: saved in your browser’s local storage, for the service you ask for. Nothing is sent to the publisher. You can erase them from your browser.
- Technical logs: the host processes your IP address and connection data to serve and secure the site. This relies on legitimate interest and may involve a transfer to the United States, under its policy.
- Videos: no request reaches YouTube before you click a video. That click is your consent to load the player: Google may then process your IP address and set trackers, under its policy, with a possible transfer outside the European Union.
- Messages: if you write to the publisher, your message is only used to reply, and it’s kept for at most 3 years after the last exchange.
You can ask for access, correction, erasure or restriction of your data, or object to its processing, at splace42@gmail.com. You can also complain to the CNIL, the French data protection authority.
